Michael F. BrowningMike Browning was a founding partner of Porzak Browning & Bushong LLP, and was previously a partner at Holme Roberts & Owen. His practice focuses on real estate and water rights, especially residential real estate development, and high-end farms and ranches.

Mike is a native of Montana and graduated from the University of Montana with a B.A. in Liberal Arts in 1974. He then ventured to the East Coast and received his law degree from Yale Law School in 1977. Returning to the Rockies, he has practiced real estate and water law ever since. He was editor of water law articles in The Colorado Lawyer for fifteen years and is the author himself of numerous publications.

Mike also has extensive experience in conservation easements and is the President of the Colorado Water Trust, a Colorado non-profit entity that promotes the protection of Colorado’s waterways.

Mike was named one of Colorado’s Top Lawyers by 5280 Magazine in 2007.

Mike is also an accomplished mountaineer, having climbed Mt. Everest in 1990, Denali (Mt. McKinley) in 2008, all the Colorado 14’ers, and numerous other peaks around the world. He is a past Vice President and Board member of the American Alpine Club.
